Medical Team Standing In Hospital Corridor

About the course

CORE Immediate – Adult & Child is for rescuers who might be expected to manage the early stages of a cardiac arrest. This includes; nurses, vaccinators, pharmacists, midwives, anaesthetic technicians, radiographers, trained health professionals, dentists (please refer to the NZDA equivalent courses), hospitals, community health and emergency medical technicians. Information and scenarios are based on children and infants as well as adults. CORE Immediate was previously known as NZRC Level 4 Resuscitation.

Certification requires a practical session (6 hours) where the student demonstrates simulated practical skills in these areas:

  • Practical skills of resuscitation.
  • Scenarios for the management of collapse and medical emergencies.
  • Anaphylaxis – Use of Adrenaline for those authorised to administer.

Participants will need access to the NZRC reference book “Resuscitation – A Guide for Health Professionals” for pre-course reading. This book, available from the NZRC website, contains theory and knowledge directly applicable to the course.

Please note that CORE courses require a minimum of 4 participants. Should we not have 4 participants enrolled on the course, we will need to reschedule. This will be communicated to participants ahead of time.
