CORE Advanced is for Dental and Health Professionals that may be expected to manage a resuscitation event. Professionals this may represent are experienced Nurses, Anaesthetic Technicians, General Practitioners, Dentists providing sedation, Paramedics, and Registrars.
Endorsed by the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP) and Royal New Zealand College of Urgent Care (RNZCUC).
Pre-reading requires the student to have access to “Resuscitation – A Guide for Advanced Rescuers”
at least 3 weeks prior to the practical session. The reference book is available from www.nzrc.org.nz/resources
The practical session is a full day (8hrs) finishing with a written assessment. Reading the reference book is strongly recommended.
Skills stations include:
- Practical skills of resuscitation
- Scenarios for the management of collapse
- Initial approach to trauma
- Medical emergencies
- Written assessment comprising of multi-choice questions
- Awareness of intra osseous access, ECGs and manual defibrillation, wave form capnography (as required).
- Anaphylaxis – Use of Adrenaline for those authorised to administer.
Please note that CORE courses require a minimum of 4 participants. Should we not have 4 participants enrolled on the course, we will need to reschedule. This will be communicated to participants at least one week prior to the course date.
